WELCOME TO THE

The Matakana Coast Region

The Matakana Coast is truly special, a place of rolling green hills, beautiful white sand beaches, native bush reserves and untouched rocky coastline. It is home to elegant vineyards and boutique farms that grow and harvest a variety of incredible wines and delicious produce. With so much to do and just a hop, skip and a jump from Auckland City it’s the perfect place to explore whether you have just one day to spare or a whole week to enjoy.

There are many local attractions including the world-class Sculptureum, wine and beer tasting at local vineyards and boutique breweries, oyster tours out on the stunning Mahurangi Harbour, sculpture trails, gorgeous beach walks, a plethora of scrumptious local produce to sample (think honey, handcrafted chocolate, artisan blue cheese, gelato made with local berries…) and a thriving Farmers’ Market every Saturday in the heart of Matakana. Nestled in the riverside town of Warkworth and surrounds are many unique businesses and craftspeople.

Matakana Tours ensures you make the most of your time in the area with the minimum of stress, organising everything from door-to-door transport right down to maps and water.
