Discover the delicious tastes of fresh Matakana produce, brought to you by dedicated growers and artisan makers who love what they do.

The care and passion that goes into the creation of Matakana Coast produce makes for a sensational tasting experience. The Matakana Taste Tour includes visits to 2 wineries as well as 3 local producers of your choice - choose from the following: artisan cheeses, hand-made chocolates, boutique coffee roasters, fresh oysters, locally harvested honey, gorgeous gelato and a farmer's market option on Saturdays.

Enjoy a delicious antipasto platter lunch at a beautiful winery - another opportunity to sample the seasonal delights of this region. Savour quality, artisan foods hand-crafted with passion such as feijoa fruit wine, handcrafted chocolates with manuka honey centres, to-die-for gelato made with locally grown berries, boutique blue cheeses, award-winning ice cream and world-class olive oil.

As time allows, this tour also includes visits to other local attractions. These may include the famous Morris & James Pottery, a 1,000 year-old Kauri tree and a special place with panoramic views… Tour itinerary is flexible for private groups or for groups where everybody agrees on the change requested. One winery stop can be swapped for a craft beer brewery or you might choose to depart earlier and add on an activity such as the Oyster Farm Tour by Shuckle ferry.

★★★★★

“We tasted and bought some of the delicious and unusual handmade chocolates before heading off to our first wine tasting. We had lunch overlooking Hauraki Gulf at the second vineyard, followed by the third wine tasting and then a beer tasting. To round everything off we had delicious home-made ice cream. Liz and Geoff are very friendly and welcoming, and Nigel is an excellent guide with extensive knowledge of the area and the wineries. A very enjoyable day out.” - Y Peril
